My child received a good education at PS 209 in Brooklyn. I do have some major issues with the school. First, the "holiday" show was extremely one sided. I have nothing against Christmas, but if a holiday show is being presented in a PUBLIC SCHOOL, it should represent all religions so that my child feel they are worth something and feels like they belong. Christmas was the ONLY topic of the show. Other religions were not even mention or celebrated in any way. We should be teaching our children to celebrate each other, not show favoritism and celebrate one religion. To top it off, my child received a reading package from the school, which was great but tucked inside was a child friendly religious pamphlet promoting Christianity! That I'm bringing up with the principal. That is completely unacceptable for a Public School to do!! There is something fishy going on in that school and they should definitely be sited.
