Gateway can be a great place for many boys. With a caring staff that wants to help in any way they can and a school thay is so helpful in the way they approach each kid. The problem though, led in lack of a teaching model and consistency. While management switches on a whim what is to be focused on and therapists work with the boys one on one, the staff are at a major loss because as"individualized" as they say they are, they miss out on so many teaching opportunities. Shout out to the weekend outdoor experience staff, they have they're stuff together and run a great program. The bottom line is they need a teaching model to help these boys succeed. As a person who worked there a long time and now works with a more in depth look at behavior and helping people through use of said teaching model, Gateway does have its perks and can help many boys, they just lack what it needs to be a great school.
